v0.1.18 Bus System Rework So, how does it work? The bus system has been completely redesigned. Instead of selecting vague destinations like Sector A, Sector B, etc., the game now opens the city map whenever you take the bus, allowing you to choose your destination directly. This makes traveling much more intuitive, since players can actually see where each location is instead of guessing. Of course, you'll only be able to travel to places you've already discovered. Once you select a destination, there's a chance that a special event will occur during the ride. The event chance depends on several factors: Time of day (Morning, Afternoon, or Night) Ren's current Lust level (up to an additional 20% chance at maximum Lust) Five new passive skills that can increase the chance even further. So, how many events are there? I actually ended up scrapping the original bus event system I had planned before release. My first idea only had three bus events, and they would always appear in sequence: first Event 1, then Event 2, and finally Event 3 with only some variation depending on Ren's outfit. After working on it for a while, I realized it would get repetitive pretty fast, so I threw the whole system out and rebuilt it from scratch. The result is a much more dynamic system featuring: 10 Ero Events 15 Flavor Events Ero Events These are encounters with creepy and strange people that Ren may run into while riding the bus. Flavor Events These are random situations that can have both positive and negative outcomes, such as: Stat increases Finding items Omikuji Unlocking a new photo Meeting NPCs And more... This variety should help keep bus rides from becoming repetitive. There's also a cooldown system, meaning the same event cannot appear again until you've seen five different events first. If you're specifically looking for Ero Events, they generally happen at night, and Ren's reactions will change depending on how high her Lust is. Also, I'm still tweaking the event spawn rate, so if you think the chance of an event occurring is too low(or high), let me know! Right now, the base chance is 10%, plus up to 25% from passive skills, and up to 20% based on Ren's Lust level, for a maximum total chance of 55%. New Accessories This update also introduces two new accessories, both available at the new Bus Terminal. Personal Safety Alarm Prevents Ero Events from occurring. Premium Seat Prevents both Ero Events and Flavor Events while equipped. Most of this development cycle was spent adapting the map plugin to support all of these new systems (and also scrapping the other system ). Every time I thought everything was finally working, something else would break or another bug would appear... But after a lot of work, I finally got everything working exactly the way I wanted! Money Loss & ATM System With the addition of the new bus events, especially one where you can lose money, I added ATMs to every shop in the game. ATMs provide a safe place to store your money so you don't have to carry everything with you. Additionally, losing a battle will now cause you to lose 50% of the money you're carrying. However, this penalty can be reduced through three new passive skills introduced in this update. New Area: Bus Terminal A brand-new Bus Terminal has been added to the northwest side of the city. There you'll find: A new shop New NPCs The city's main bus station I also expanded the overworld city map slightly to leave room for future locations. Two New Gallery Floors The Gallery Room now has two additional floors. One dedicated to the new Bus Events. Another dedicated to gameplay tips and mechanic explanations. The tips room is still a work in progress, and I'll continue adding explanations for more mechanics in future updates. Dr. G - Route Progress The fourth event of Dr. G's Main Route has been added. This event includes Four new CGs along with their variations. QoL Improvements & Other Changes Besides the major additions, I also made a lot of improvements throughout the game, including: Weather improvements New option menu A new aura that visually represents Ren's Lust level A new social media post Four new diary entries And plenty of other small changes I'm probably forgetting right now.
